In my book, the main character Greg evolves in a few ways. Greg evolves from being someone who just sits in front of a television like a couch potato to someone who goes outside regularly and gets active with outdoor activities.
The beginning of my book starts with showing Greg in front of a television with all the lights off. He has bags under his eyes and doesn’t look well rested. When his mother comes in and shines some light into the room, he hisses like a snake because he is not used to the light. His mom tells him to go outside and play, but Greg ignores her and keeps to playing video games. Greg starts to change after the event in which his friend Rowley comes over one day and invites him to come to his family’s country club. After that, Greg spends more and more time outside or in the country club. Greg starts to get more sleep and he gets healthier. He loses some weight and he can compete in more games with Rowley, but as he gets more and more confident he starts to lose the importance of their friendship. By the end of the book Greg realizes how much his friendship with Rowley means to him and they make up.
In conclusion, I would like to say that Greg went through a helpful evolution from a lazy boy to an active boy. If he had not gone through this, he would never have had all of the fun adventures he had. I can relate to this because I was overweight as a child. I have lost some weight since then when I joined in some activities that I enjoyed. I am glad that Greg turned out the way he did.
